I started my photography career while still studying for my A levels in sixth form in my home town of Liverpool.
Directly after sixth form I went to work in The Castings Factory, which is a professional photo studio, modelling and TV. casting agency based in Liverpool.
At The Castings Factory I took a job as Modelling Agency/Scout aswell as a Studio Assistant, working in the studio attached to the agency.
I assisted in many shoots during my 12 months at The Castings Factory including shoots with celebrities such as Alex Curran for The Daily Mirror, and Emma Rigby for front cover and 4 page spread in Sugar Magazine. I also worked on over 100 modelling portfolios assisting and leading shoots.
My experience as both an agent and photographer gave me a unique insight into the modelling world which not many people get to see. I believe I have an advantage over many by having worked on both sides of the industry, and my contacts book in the industry is still a very full one.
Also whilst working in the studio I had the great honour of being able to work with such photographers as the famous celebrity photographer Lee Strickland, the acclaimed Fashion Photographer Mark Mcnulty and the Press Legend that is Dave Evans.
While at the Castings Factory I was asked to judge at major modelling events such as Miss. Noir and Miss. Liverpool, aswell as Spec-Savers "Spec Wearer Of The Year Award".
After leaving The Castings Factory, I took a job at Mercury Press Agency in Liverpool City Centre, which is a national news, features and celebrity picture and words agency, that covers the North West of England and North Wales.
At Mercury I developed a lot of key photography skills, and had many national newspaper and magazine pictures published, including 3 front pages of The Telegraph, The Times and The Sport"
Mercury Press gave me a standing in the Press Photography industry and helped me to gain a name for myself on the picture desks of the National Press on Fleet Street.
After working 6 months at Mercury I decided that I was ready for the biggest step up and to move to London.
I spoke to a company called Big Pictures, who quickly offered me a 2-day interview process, which I attended and happily passed, so I packed up and moved to London.
currently I am still working at Big Pictures, which is a lot of celebrity work. At Big I have had the opportunity to travel abroad and see many parts of the world.
Also under Big Pictures I have been able to work further on my studio work as I have more free time. And my celebrity and industry book of contacts has only grown whilst at Big Pictures.
I enjoy living and working in London but also love trips home to Liverpool.
At present I currently undertake many types of new work, and examples of my work can be found in my portfolio page.
